2021 Staff Sergeant Gleason Morrow Award

Staff Sergeant Morrow Arts Scholarship

The Staff Sergeant Alexandria Mae Gleason-Morrow Arts Scholarship is awarded to two Livingston County High School seniors with plans to continue their studies of the arts into their collegiate careers. This scholarship has always been a part of GVCA’s High School Art Show, but was recently renamed in early 2017 in honor of the fallen airwoman who was active in her high school arts program and aspired to be a high school art teacher once she had completed her service.

“Even after her passing, Airman Gleason Morrow continues to serve, opening the door for others to a career in the arts, sadly one that she will never pass through herself,” explained Jason Skinner, Director of Veteran Services for Livingston County. “Alexandria was a student artist in our Scholastic Art Show. Her enthusiasm and love for art enriched her entire community. We are honored to commemorate her by naming this scholarship as a memorial to her and her dream to become an art teacher.”
